Annual Events

Swimming

Swimming lessons form part of our Physical Education, Health and safety programs. All students participate in swimming lessons during the course of the year for 10 lessons. These lessons are organised by the school and are held at Gosnells Leisureplex in Thornlie.

ANZAC Day Service

In a combined event with the Canning Vale Primary School, we commemorate ANZAC Day with an ANZAC service to remember the courage and sacrifice of those that fought and died in World War 1. Students participate in this service and the school choir songs. Parents are encouraged to attend the ANZAC service.

Harmony Day

Harmony Day is a celebration of our cultural diversity – a day of cultural respect for everyone who calls Australia Home. The official date is March 21st. We celebrate this day by holding a combined assembly with Canning Vale Primary School. Our students are also encouraged to wear either their national dress or something ‘orange’, which is the official Harmony Day colour.

Senior Camp

Year 5 and 6 students participate in the three day Senior Camp each year. Our students join with other Education Support Schools within our network to experience exciting camp activities together, make new friends and demonstrate their independence in new ways.

Infinite Limits Dance Program

During the second half of the year we run a wonderful dance program through Infinite Limits Dance Company for our Kindy to Year 6 students. The dance routines are specifically tailored for our students and are fun and easy for our students to follow. It is a great opportunity for the students to experience movement, sensory and social skills through the art of Dance and Music.

Music Rocks Australia – Music Program

Our Year 5 and 6 students participate in a weekly music program for one semester. Through this program, out students have the opportunity to develop their social skills, confidence, gross motor skills and personal goals in performing to an audience with a wide range of instruments.

School Sports Carnival

The school sports carnival is held annually in term three. This is a whole campus event, where our students participate alongside Canning Vale Primary School. Students participate in a variety of individual and team events on the day.

P & C

During the year the P & C run different events, which may include things such as the Family Picnic, School Discos and event raffles. We have a joint P & C with the primary school and parents and carers are encouraged to be involved in events or join the P & C to support the ongoing needs of our students.

Open Classrooms

Canning Vale Education Support Centre holds open classrooms once per semester. Parents are invited to come during the school day to observe their child at work in the classroom.

End of Year Concert

At the end of each year the Canning Vale Education Support Centre students hold an end of year Christmas Concert. All families and friends of are invited to attend.
